Thank you for your response, but I’ve already managed to install Mint, but thanks for your info, as during startup and shutdown I still see these errors popping up.
My boot order is fixed to default to Linux Mint on its own drive, Windows boot as a backup for photoshop and the couple of games that don’t work within Linux.
I’ll see if the errors will keep popping up after disconnecting the optical drive.
My pc does have one, but it’s unused for a while… Would disconnecting it prevent a bunch of these errors? Or can I ask for it to not check the CD drive? I keep seeing these error on occasion, even after installing Linux Mint and running it for a bit.

Ah, I didn’t check the USB stick itself.
Just checked, the stick is 2.0, so that shouldn’t be the issue.
Don’t have another PC I can use to test and I’m quite a noob in anything that isn’t surface level Windows usage (I have messed with the registry a tiny bit, but purely following a guide) so VMs are close to magic for me.
Got recommended to check the USB ports (thanks to @Jumuta@sh.itjust.works ) and if that doesn’t work I’ll reflash using other tools than Balena. Will post an update once I’ve tried this.

Will have to check which USB ports are which, after 12+ years not checking my hardware I’m a bit rusty on all this. Windows made it too easy to not bother, but now that Windows10 support ends by the end of this year I should be more aware of what I have and what may need some upgrading.
Got recommended to try Ventoy or Rufus instead of Balena, so I’ll be reflashing once I’m home again. Thanks for the quick response

Yeah, and when you check the detail pages of the games and other software you are upgrading it for it’ll turn out the 6 megadong tri-actor unit should work well in general, but there’s a certain crashing bug near the end of this game I already bought that the devs haven’t patched yet…
And even after all those considerations modded Minecraft will be just about functional.
Undiagnosed autism here with suspected ADHD, I feel called out by this entire list, and much of that is because I/we have had to figure it all out by ourselves.

While I’m not a professional, I suspect help with management of your ADHD may be more appropriate than Time travel…
Just past week restarted the game and I love finding random Tenno in these comments. Hadn’t played for a year or more and it’s still going strong with exciting new content free for everyone to play. If you’re bored of the loot-n-shoot part you can go fishing, decorating, trading, horseriding and whatever else is in the game.
Also love to look for streamers starting fresh and reliving the awe of the game through them.
