  • And in that case, it’s actually better by virtue of being more precise. e.g. Thunder can handle Lemmy, I believe not Mbin at all, and while PieFed support should eventually come (soon?) I don’t think it’s ready yet.

So yeah, that’s perfect, keep doing that!:-)

(Edit: it’s so fantastic to see Interstellar, and the Threadiverse/Forumverse/Whatever, keep growing as it’s been doing lately! 😁)

  • Isn’t Meta defunct now? Someone told me that anyway…

I looked it up and I suppose technically it still exists, but only just barely.

These are all the exact things I brought up in my post, and others have both before and since. Whatever we want to call the subset of the Fediverse that encompasses forums/threads seems quite controversial.

    I suppose it’s back to Lemmy+PieFed+Mbin then.😜

  • Do a poll of the community?

I disliked Threadiverse as well, for the identical reason, and pushed for Forumverse (ironically in a post that Rimu mentioned to me did not federate properly for several days, so it did not get much traction). But… nowadays I use Threadiverse, bc very established people (like Ada) have already been using it for years, and there doesn’t seem to be much of a practical reason to get people to change.

Tbf, Lemmy used the term before Meta tried to put their dirty mugs on it. Why allow Meta to define us?

I’ll use whatever people decide on though. That said, now that I switched to using Threadiverse, I do kinda like it. We speak in Threads

Edit: that Comment button is way too close to the bottom of the editing window 😔. Anyway, we speak in Threads, and it rolls off the tongue more readily (in English) than Forumverse. So that’s something to consider.

Also, for awhile I was saying “(Threadi-)verse”, as in The Verse. But yeah nobody seemed to get it.
