Bad enough that I cannot handle music with lyrics, with a few exceptions. Genres like post-rock are all I listen to.

Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving Book by Pete Walker
This book is a great place to start. I’m struggling to finish it because it’s so relevant that reading about it is quite an intense experience. I’m also currently reading Buddha’s Brain by Rick Hanson. It’s a neuroscience book which goes through all the biological processes that our brains go through when we experience symptoms. It’s oddly calming to read about the actual physiology behind my experiences. It also gives meditation tips and breathing techniques that help with flashbacks.
Another book that’s been recommended to me but I haven’t stated yet is The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk.
I find that reading about this stuff creates quite a lot of anxiety so I’m pacing myself. But I feel like the anxiety means I’m going in the right direction.
I experience every single one of these on a routine basis. Discovering and subsequently reading about CPTSD was utterly revelatory for me.
Treating it is another story…
His last name, obviously. His ancestor getting his brains blown out gave him his entire career.
I am soooooooo disappointed in the hundreds of people upvoting AI slop. Stop it.
Sounds like a good law. The comments on the article are absolutely unhinged.
A toolgif on Lemmy? Hurray!
They are polluting on our behalf. Saying it’s entirely their fault is like blaming China for plastic pollution. They are producing that plastic for the world.
Cool. Picking on people who are already hurting, again. At least they’re consistent?
I’m waaaaaay ahead of this on step one. Step two can go fuck itself.
Correct. “Too much” implies that it’s physically impossible to hold, otherwise it wouldn’t be too much. You’ll know it’s too much when you can’t hold it.
Capitalism benefits from homelessness because it scares people into spending their lives at their shitty jobs, making their bosses rich. Most countries with homeless populations want to keep it that way.
Is this AI? Where else would someone find a single file grocery store isle?
I hope you are right. They need to pay for their tax cuts somehow.
However, if the the Republicans in Congress cared more about money than they do about party loyalty they would take away the tariffs, which they can do at any time. The presidency was only given tariffs powers by Congress after 9/11 so Bush could quickly tariffs nations who were involved in the attack. The executive branch is not supposed to be able to tax anything.
I worry that they’ll do whatever he wants them to do, and if they do nothing to control him it will be proof of this. We need to take care of ourselves but also be open to these possibilities.
This is me except it’s video games and hiking. Just make sure you buy a video card ASAP before the tariffs double the cost.
While it’s nice to hang out in our bubbles, the things that are going on are eventually going to hit video games. They’ve already hit hiking. While I do agree with the general sentiment of this post, there is a time fast approaching where we won’t be able to ignore it any longer.
I think Trump is going to start sending people to federal prison for cannabis possession. The only reason the feds don’t do this is because of an unwritten agreement to leave the states alone and let them legalize it if they want to. Technically the feds could roll on it to blue states and start fucking people over. I worry that this will happen eventually.
I just bought an XQ2 so I won’t be able to buy another for a few years but I’ll keep the screwball in mind. I bet it’s worth the investment.
I watched that video about replacing the batteries before I switched to the Lobo. I just don’t trust my abilities enough to try it. I applaud people who have the necessary skills to swap them out, though. I’m sure it’s easier than I think it is.
But it’s offensive to apes.
