I get that Nord is annoying with the amount of sponsorship deals they do, and that they’re probably not a VPN people should trust (or at least high risk people), but YouTubers do have to eat and pay bills man. I skip almost every sponsor I see, as they usually never offer anything I need, but I understand why creators do them.

It’s a necessary evil, as many people (like me) are not going to pay a YT every month to help keep their channel up, especially if you watch many. This is the issue PeerTube has preventing it from being a place that draws in more creators; you can only generate revenue from the charity and kindness of viewers.

Of course some are purely doing channels as a hobby, but there are many who need their channel to live, or have this as a side-gig so they don’t live paycheck-to-paycheck. So can we not judge?

Whenever we had special events or club fundraisers my highschool Sensei would have us make origami like it was a sweatshop, so I honestly relate.

Edit: Some of y’all missed the point lol. I don’t use Amazon, but it makes it extremely hard to find shit that isn’t being sold in stores near me. How about promoting other websites/ways to get things, rather than preaching about Bezos being evil. I know he’s evil, it’s why I don’t use Amazon, but TEACH people where else they can go.

Pinterest would do this shit even when it wasn’t my own posts lol. Like I never posted stuff to it, only saved others pins, but it would email me every time a one of “my pins” got removed, and rarely did they ever tell you why or what the pin was. I didn’t care much since I mostly saved memes and stolen/reposted fanart but the way they run that site is dumbfounding.

Love Anki, it’s how I do immersion when I consume Japanese media. It was intimidating at first, but once I found a add-on and template to make flashcards while browsing stuff, it became golden. The fact that it’s FOSS just encourages so many creatives and programmers to make plugins that make it even better.

My only issue with it is using Anki to learn feels impossible, while using it to review content I’ve seen before is great. Guess that’s why it’s called “暗記”, since it means memorization in japanese.

And thirdly, because Romans, like we do in the modern day, found dicks hilarious, and would give them legs, wings, or depict them fighting with their owners, in addition to scribbling them everywhere. … some things never change.

Yeah, I did a trip to Italy a few years ago and found souvenir stone/wooden dicks with dinosaur tails and other silly things in a market at Pompeii.

I have a huge backlog of games but I’m eyeing the Remake Intergrade + Rebirth pack as someone who hasn’t played any FF game besides XV yet. I plan to go through the others and then do VII last (that or X). Also Intergrade includes everything from reg + the Yuffie DLC, right?

Edit: Do the PC remakes have performance issues? I don’t need perfect graphics but I’ve heard there’s more stuttering compared to PS5. After watching some performance comparison videos and reading reviews it’s clear the PC port has a lot of issues… Guess I’ll wait for a PS5 copy sale 😅

Honestly, getting rid of any chat (voice/text) and DM features would would help. I don’t think kids should completely lose online gaming, just make it almost impossible to communicate with anyone on said game. I played a shit ton of Mario Kart and Splatoon online as a kid, but neither of those games offer personal messages/chat features (unless you set them up via app), so I imagine grooming would be almost impossible.

I don’t want to take Roblox away from kids, as I understand how fun it was growing up, especially if you can’t afford a console/games at home. But chat has to be either heavily moderated, or just entirely removed imo.
