You are correct about “pre-emptive obedience.” Reddit’s auto mod removes many more posts now automatically. If you go to the moderator queue it will show all “removed” posts and comments. It will tell you what rule/s were violated. Sometimes it even suggests that you ban the user from your group. You can over rule the “removal” but if you do you risk reddit just banning the whole group mods and all.

I was in sales at a time when everyone had unlimited expense accounts. It was customary to take customers out to lunch. Everyone drank heavily. I would pick them up at their place of work and drive to whatever restaurant. When lunch was over we were all pretty hammered. All I needed to do was drive home as safely as I could. I would never see in person or speak to a customer on the phone the rest of the day. HOWEVER, I still remember a time when I was dropping off a customer back at work. He was really blasted. I told him DON’T go back inside. Call and tell them that you got sick at lunch. Get yourself a cab home. He didn’t listen and he got fired.

Well yes VPN is used many times to evade bans. I went for over a year with a new account using a VPN. Then one day I forgot to turn it on. Next morning this new account that I created and that worked for over a year was banned.

It seems that Admins do reviews of temp bans if you violate the most watched stuff you will be perm banned. The top reasons to get banned are violence, anything trans related that contradicts the reddit view of trans stuff, or incivility. Like name calling. Example would be you make a comment to OP or another user - “well you’re a fucking asshole”.

Come on, what’s not to understand about no violence. It doesn’t matter what the situation is. Could be factual or hypothetical you can’t endorse, call for, or even comment on any act of violence. The lucky ones get a temp ban. Most are simply permanently banned site wide
