I don’t have a good understanding of the logistics, but it would be a small optimistic moment in geopolitics if Iran took up SA’s offer of help here. Just having fire crews and utility teams working side by side for a common cause would be incredible given the history of animosity between these countries, and hopefully the kind of good will/solidarity that looms heavily in the minds of the people for a long time.

I loved that entire scene, beginning to end. I had to give it a rewatch after it first ended just to enjoy the pacing of it all again. Who, Luigi? Yeah he was with me 7 states over for several days during the events in question. We decided to have a dudes rock adventure time biking trip. We left our cell phones at home and took my old ass car with limited technology camping and biked out in the great wilderness disconnected from society for a while. It was great to get away from it all and deal with life’s many stressors, you know? It’s easy to forget about things like oppressive healthcare systems and the people who run them when you’re out in nature.

Could it just be because Australia has a fraction the population of these other countries? One would assume that translates into less power consumption overall, even if not proportionate to population.

Underrated downside of the 2nd Trump presidency: I have to see this dead-eyed freak again. I hoped he’d crawled off into a ditch and died of some painful and inoperable tumor in the intervening years, but alas. More evidence that the two parties are the same. They find the absolutely worst ghouls to smugly describe their terror with vicious glee. Hard to say who I hate more, Miller or the smarmy little goblin my brain is already trying repress the memory of who denied Israel’s war crimes with a smile on his face for months.

I’m going to be trying esketamine treatment soon. I’ll tell you if it’s helpful. As with other commenters in this thread, I’ve had incredible periods of relief after psilocybin shrooms. Just 4 trips, but that was followed by months of improved mood and functioning overall. I’m hoping esketamine is similarly effective for me. It’s legal and FDA approved now by the way, so perhaps look into a psychiatry practice near you that provides the service.
