There are some successful communes and intentional communities but the upper limit for such things is low and they typically operate within a larger society that is traditionally structured. Even if such an experiment theoretically worked up to 100k or 1 million people it still could not operate independently because without a “host” state foreign nations with an exponentially larger population and traditional hierarchy could sweep in and easily take over due to a large standing army. Despite what anyone says we will always live in that world because human nature doesn’t change.

I understand full well the bargain that was made after WW2. America trades it’s useless paper slips for goods in countries with low or no regulations. As a result manufacturing etc was hollowed out. I didn’t make that decision.

I still prefer a bronze age tier collapse over whatever “revolution” you’re talking about where anyone who disagrees gets lined up and shot. The world will become multipolar and balkanize. It is a better path forward than the musings of the “marxist-leninists” on Lemmy. People have nationalities, religion, culture and want borders between them and the other. A 19th century political philosophy isn’t doing to change that. It will just cause a lot of people to die.

I’m a Christian so having children is my prerogative unless I want to become a monk. From a secular perspective antinatalism, hedonism, nihilism are all the death knell of a society. It’s peak decadence and the sign of a culture in decline. To bandaid the problem the government has been piping in as many immigrants as possible. These immigrants have primarily economic motives. Therefore they do not understand nor are they invested in an ideological way in the American project. So if I (or we) want to live in an America that we recognize or aspire to live in we have to be progenitors of the next generation which means having and raising kids.

America was designed to be a confederacy ala the EU. Post civil war Federalism was the beginning of the end for the small ‘d’ democracy that the framers intended. Everything since has been duct taped together. Prior to the civil war the Federal Government had very little power.
