2·43 minutes agoWhat, you don’t like the main character immediately running into and immediately getting crushed on by a princess the moment her species shows up? Or being the main character to come up with a basic idea to appeal to them that a several hundred year old supposedly wise person couldn’t? Or that they run formal debates in the future like a dance-off? Or that they often talk like people from the 20th century instead of using more timless and intelligent phrasing?
Or that the show is written more like science-FICTION than SCIENCE-fiction while wearing Trek paint? … ok ok that one is generic and kinda’ applies to all new trek…
Nah, they’ll mostly reveal that they’re all visual phenominon explainable by physics and that even the classified US government is full of morons who want it to be true, even before Trump.

Linux@lemmy.ml•So, I'm a noob and I prefer... Debian?English
5·10 hours agoIf you want Debian plus some nice tools, I’d recommend MX Linux. It’s based on Debian stable and mosrly just has a few convenient extras. Like installing nvidia drivers with one click, or being able to create a bootable ISO of your exact system. It has a few other neat tools, too.
Wouldn’t be surprised if you could just nab those tools ad hoc as desired for normal Debian, though.

Zeroscaping doesn’t have to be so awful. Some arrangements can even verge on pretty.

The plan was to take power and use the gestapo like ICE to scare people into staying in line.
My question is, why are people staying in line?!

I respond with as much thought as I receive. The fact you think I am the instigator of the petty comments says a whole lot about your reading comprehension.
Many religions don’t believe in Hell, even some Christian sects, so your ignorance is rather pathetic on this very topic itself, let alone the broader topic of religion as a whole.

If ethernet works, you’re just using a more expensive option to go with fiber.
Unless you need something unique about fiber, like distance (which can still be dubious for consumer grade hardware), or a non-electrical based signal (dubious requirement in most cases), then you’re just throwing money at being able to say you use fiber.
Six feet under sounds like a safe place to keep them.

In fact, such regulations really need to go a lot further and make illegal straight up unnecessary subscriptions, too. If something doesn’t need actively maintained things outside of the actual product for it to function, then it doesn’t ‘need’ a subscription model.

Not just with their web hosting. I’ve had so many updates break random crap it’s not even funny. Recently, a random update I did not approve suddenly had kwallet not working. A core piece of a DE they provide a bundled version for. I had to start kwalletd myself every time I wanted to use it.
It didn’t start that way on the fresh install. I didn’t do anything myself except reboot. Then suddenly my scripts that nab from the keystore are failing and asking me for passwords and what a mess.
That’s just a more recent example. I remember having quite a few random issues on update in the past, though the only other one I explicitly remember is the DE suddenly failing to start. Like, at all. Luckily I had a recent timeshift backup saved elsewhere, restored, and ignored the update notifications for a long while…
