  • One of my neighbors has a kei truck and I want one so bad.

Like, I love the functionality of a pickup, but they are wildly impractical for everyday use…not to mention the…implications

Something cheap enough to be an auxiliary vehicle, that can carry 4x8 sheet goods and 12ft boards without much hassle would be awesome though.

As it is now, we have two cars (A VW Passat (sedan) and a Honda Odyssey (minivan)). The minivan can carry 4x8 goods and 12ft dimensional lumber, but it requires removing the middle row. Kind of a pain in the ass. It’s rather uncommon to need both cars at the same time (but still comes in clutch, pardon the pun, when we do need it)…generally the sedan is for solo trips and the minivan is for family outings. I’d replace the Passat with a kei in a heartbeat.

  • Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure unclass networks are allowed inside classified spaces…there are restrictions on how it can be installed, physically, but they are certainly allowed.

Signalgate needs more attention, for sure, but this sounds like a nothingburger.

Now the real problem isn’t that it’s there, but if it’s actually “unsecured”, as in nothing inspecting outbound traffic. Exfiltrating data from a classified network is easy peasy then, especially if it’s in the comfort of your office.

For example, the unclass system usually should have removable media restrictions so that classified data can not be easily transferred onto it. If that’s not in place then it’s potentially a very big deal.

Edit: wow, bunch of people don’t know how the world of classified spaces work. Not everything is a smoking gun. Everybody that has an office has an unsecured internet connection with access to Signal. It’s in your pocket. Generally though, cell phones aren’t allowed in classified spaces. Hence the need for unclassified systems.

Signalgate is bad. Having an unclass internet connection in a classified space is normal. Hegseth is a drunken piece of shit and a threat to national security and soverignity, but on its own, this is literally nothing. That is all.

  • Yeah childcare is gonna be more expensive, but they’ll loosen the regulations so that anybody can be a childcare provider, without any background checks or anything, so more people can charge more money. And no vaccine requirement, so more kids can go. It’s win/win/win. /s

HOAs, like most everything else in America that sucks, is rooted in racism.

It’s a way of keeping…undesirables…out of the neighborhood. Or at least pressure them to leave.

True “as long as it hurts the other guy more” energy.

  • Not just that but the pilot can be on the other side of the world from wherever the fiber leads out.

Most likely the fiber is coming out of a bunker that just has some switches and a TACLANE or something similar. Doesn’t take much infra…you need that, some sort of low-latency network connection, and room for drones to take off.

Once it’s set up, the site can be unmanned. Hell they can rig it to blow itself up after the mission is complete, so that nothing can be recovered from the infra if it’s found.

For that matter, most of the drones flight path could be pre- programmed…the pilot only there as a contingency. Doing that, one operator could control several drones simultaneously.
