I’m re-listening to 3 Body for the 2nd time :) I’ve thought a little of the consequences of using light to communicate instead of sound. Tri-Solarans can probably easily communicate very long distances naturally. I also thought maybe this style of communication makes them more apt to computer technology in general as the light modulation is what a lot of computing is. I also wondered if “conversing” with a computer is more natural for them and much simpler for a computer to interpret compared to speech.

Why even do an impact statement? All Christian victims should be assumed to forgive their attackers, right?

Immediately close all the windows, lock the doors, and check the body for maggots. Checking the body for maggots will clearly indicate about how long they have been deceased. I made a rule that I can’t spend over $10 on a game until I’ve played through my entire backlog. I haven’t bought a game over $10 in 10 years and I’ve spent $6k on Steam since I started using it.

Google memories shows me lots and lots pictures of my dog that died 1 year ago this week. Of course I was sad when reminded that my good boy wasn’t around anymore, but the more I saw the pictures, the more I remembered the good times. The constant pictures reminded me that he had a good active life. It’s now a conscious decision to not turn off this feature.
