  • I like the fediverse for that very reason, that no big bro can press a button ad thereby delete or ban things. But this is still no perfect place.

    I once, for example, posted in a pro Palestine community a relatively moderate reminder that the Hamas is a terrorist organisation, and that beside of all the wrongdoings from Israel the attack from October the 7th, 2023, which initiated all the following mess, could not really be justified.

    I expected, as it was a pro Palestine community, harsh responses and many downvotes. But the mods just deleted my post for “breaking rule X”, which I couldn’t see at all as the post was unwelcome there, yes, but in full accordance with all their rules (which I had read carefully before I posted there).

    So there is irresponsible blocking and one-sidedness on Lemmy & Co. as well, even if it’s from a kind different style here, compared to the big tech social media solutions.
