There’s a local grocery store on Martha’s Vineyard in MA that has covered a large part of their parking lot with solar panels and has a handful of EV chargers in the shaded parking spaces. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Neither my wife nor I wanted kids but we still got married. The legal aspects you touch on are pretty darned important even without kids in the picture. Health/medical reasons are another huge one. We have a friend who lived with her partner for decades, but never got married. When he fell ill and was hospitalized it was virtually impossible for her to make any decisions, tell the doctors what his wishes were, etc. All because they weren’t legally married.
Going way back before high school here…
In the 70’s in elementary school I had a classmate who had a brother about two years younger than we were. In 1978 when the brother was only 8 years old he was killed in a freak accident. The family had moved to a new house whose previous owner collected war memorabilia. The brother found a hand grenade that had somehow been left behind. It was live and blew up in his hands.
Ten years later my former classmate was killed on board the Pan Am 103 bombing.
Archived New York Times article that is mostly about my classmate but mentions the death of the younger brother as well: https://archive.is/ykLi0
Those were the only two children in that family. I still think about them all from time to time to this very day…
I’d return for a significantly higher salary, then spend most of my time leveraging that for even more in the private sector.
There are plenty of beaches where it’s perfectly fine to drive off road. But it typically requires a permit, proper equipment, knowledge of how to properly deflate your tires, etc.
Well at least until the battery comes in contact with the rising salty tide… Then it will have a nice char to replace the patina.
Tesla would be smart to split up their product line into into different corporations and block Musk from involvement.
Their supercharger network is big enough that it could be its own company, especially now that other non-Tesla vehicles can charge at them. It’s basically the EV version of an international gas station chain at this point.
Their Powerwall & Megapack solutions are also a separate product line that could be spun off (along with whatever solar products they have).
When most people think of Tesla these days they mostly think of the cars, and Musks association with it has clearly caused significant harm to that product line. By rebranding the supercharger network and storage business and removing any association with Musk they at least have a chance to see those products succeed without the negative stigma he brings.
I do think it’s too late for the Tesla EV’s though, unless the Tesla board of directors makes major leadership changes. And I don’t see that happening any time soon.
It would take literally years of positive actions on his part to try to rebuild his trust. But I don’t think Tesla has years at this point given the flood of EV options that are becoming available from established automakers as well as other startups like Rivian.
As an American I am so glad the European Union has said it will never Recognize Crimea as Russian.
So when will they drink the Flavor Aid?
I’m 57. I remember where I was when Reagan was shot. I’m too old to be a politician.
If I recall correctly the son was terrified but went only because of his father…
Teslas have a Sentry Mode that enables recording of all the cameras when the car is locked and a USB flash drive is plugged in.
The car can also record clips when you do things like honk the horn, as a way to try to capture relevant video before an accident etc.
Somebody needs to design a kit to hook a Tesla vehicle battery up to solar panels like their Powerwall does. I’m sure there are plenty of people with solar panels out there that would love to add/expand battery backup at a reasonable price.
They’d still retail for more, because capitalism. Oh, and that “proudly made in the USA” sticker will add another $24.99 to the price as well.
Well, that and white and male. Oh, and spray-on tans are ok as well.
Team Manchild’s take on “we’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas”…
Fireworks are legal in New Hampshire but not Massachusetts. The MA police will stake out NH firework shops near the border before July 4 and pull over MA cars they see loading up once they cross back into the state…
I’m outside Boston and I see a lot here as well…
The fact that Ukraine performs highly targeted assassinations of Russian military leadership, while Russia indiscriminately bombs civilian targets is all anybody needs to consider when deciding which side to support.
