Da is a wonderfully diverse word in German it seems… I think in this context, though, it’s similar to its use when you say “alle da” meaning “everyone”. I guess viele is interchangeable between “much” and “many” depending on context? Because my literal translation would be “too much one”, and naturally that doesn’t make sense in English. Closest thing my brain comes up with is “too many people”
Alternatively, I guess it could translate to “too much (t)here” as in “there’s too much happening in this area” maybe?
