Maybe? My MiL is a mega MAGA person; got all the lawn shit, car stickers, signs. She doesn’t hate me.

She’s been manipulated. If we create others, we maintain the system of oppression by creating a new out group.

When people are in abusive relationships, what often helps is promoting love. If you push the person away, now they only have the abuser.

We self segregated and created larger divides and harder bubbles. We’re Americans. I know there’s warped philosophy in MAGA. If we make connections, and we get disappeared, there’s a greater chance they see what’s wrong.

It’s dark, it’s difficult, & it’s not fair. But if we keep self segregating, it’ll be easier to kill us all.

This event is remarkably close to me geographically. I grew up in New Bedford and the nearby area. This is really horrifying & disgusting.

I would play with degrees and fantasy BEFORE you bring in another human. Another human is a huge X-factor, and you’ll need to do more communicating with them. Instead, she could dress up & pretend to be someone else, or you could try verbally including these fantasies into a scene.

Communicate, get clarity, take small steps, and talk after these scenes about how they affected you & your partner.

I personally find the Leviticus 16:10 scapegoat quote to be more appropriate:

It makes me sad growing up in public school and learning about these atrocities only to see so much repeat. It’s horrible.

I think both parts are right, but maybe more balanced. If millennials could afford to protest AND thought it was effective, they would.

I actually like the “no economic activity” protests, but they are possible for me because of my privilege. Not everyone can just not work or buy things, especially when on paycheck to paycheck.

Money talks right now. It would take collective action and new movement to break folks out of their slowing inertia. They’ve shoved a lot, and like you said, results have been mixed. We got a lot of change, but now the Sisyphean boulder is rolling back down the hill. :/

Yeah, I don’t get how the language is lost on these groups. :/ It feels like “never forget” has been forgotten & the opposite has been implemented instead. All genocide is awful.
