Capitalism was supposed to be our economic system, not our political system.

Very nice explanation and only nitpicking, but saying that Thorium is much much safer than uranium implies that uranium nuclear plants are unsafe. In reality uranium nuclear power has one of the best safety records in energy production.
Tariffs are at 245 percent. I doubt they can do much in terms of adding their own surcharges.
Just to be clear, such a change to the birth certificate should NEVER happen if the person involved does not agree with it. It would 100 percent violate the Hippocratic Oath, as it can be very harmful.
Fair. I think my point was related to what makes sense in any reasonable social setting, not what is the exact biological definition which appears to be more of a scientific question.
Just to be clear on this, in my opinion anyone born with a vagina who wants to identify as a woman, should be treated as such. That’s if you have grown up thinking you were a woman, such an identity cannot be taken away.
There are only two reasonable definitions. One is: born with genitalia that look female (i.e. female on birth certificate). The other is “identifies as”. Both of these could be important in different contexts.
Your definition has the downside that the government would have to check your medical records to determine gender. That is an insane breach of the medical records.
Doesn’t seem to be a difficult choice. The US is preying on its closest allies, threatening to annex Canada, and Greenland. China is not.
To be honest, I am completely lost on why the focus is on universities. Germany has factories that make actual weapons used to kill Palestinians. They can sell those weapons because the government allows it. In fact the German government could easily force universities to stop working with their Israel counterparts as they have done with institutions from e.g. Iran or NK. Why focus your efforts on people that try to learn and people that try to teach? It’s really baffling to me.
That sounds super cool and stuff, but it has nothing to do with the essence of banking. Banks are businesses that take deposits for safekeeping and that provide credit. Banks in fact outdate Fortran by a 1000 years or so.
What do you mean with being your own bank? Can you receive deposits from customers? Are you allowed to lend a portion of the deposists onwards for business loans/mortgages? If not, you are not your “own bank”.
I think you mean that you can use it as a deposit for money, similar to, say, an old sock.
I think this independence is an illusion in the current globalised environment and it would be very difficult to attain it even for a very large country like the US (and completely out of reach for small countries).
Let’s take the example of food. Does your country depend on imports of fertiliser? What about animal feed (soy beans)? I am guessing the answer to both these questions yes.
The point is, we are in this together. For a small nation this is trivially obvious, but larger nations like to pretend they can do things alone. And then you get people like Trump that play on these sentiments.
I actually think the security guarantee is an illusion. If we are all dependent on one another we’re less likely to go to war. Conversely, If all countries start competing over the same resources the chances of war increase
Yes, but it still doesn’t explain why they vote GOP. Dems have an economic record of faster growth, lower unemployment, better stock market performance etc, and still they vote GOP.
I would hope she runs for president not senate.
Tariff the advertisers. Also, strictly enforce GDPR.
Wtf a deadly heart attack at age 25??
I really don’t think so. Putin will not give the US such a big win in the Arctic. The point about nationalism is that you can be friends with another nationalist leader, but only up to a point when there is some perceived divergence of interest. Therefore you cannot have a long term alliance between them. Putin understands this well (even if Trump does not).
Also, huge scandal breaks out and you don’t check your personal records before giving a response?
We would indeed prefer shipping to Suez. That’s why we deploy navy ships to the Red Sea. Doesn’t mean that we asked for this particular strike on Jemen (which as many already pointed out is unlikely to affect piracy much). You can’t say you do something for Europe when to my knowledge no European nation asked for this “aide”.
I do not think they will pass a constitutional amendment, so if Trump runs this will end up in court. I would like to see SC struggling to handle Obamas and Trumps case together.
