  • Scrolling through this thread, I don’t see any blahajis with less than full approval. If there are, they are more than welcome to show their disapproval by moving to a different instance.

I appreciate this sort of moderation. Imagine if somehow it was voted down: then people who don’t want to be federated with feddit.uk would have no options. “Posting proof” may have some benefit, but few of us want to tread through more transphobia, so that sounds like a net negative to me.

This is precisely how things should work. Way to go, Ada!

  • It is good advice for a job seeker, mainly because so many hiring managers are lunatics.

It’s gatekeeping. Like knowing the difference between a salad fork and a dinner fork, sending a thank you letter doesn’t demonstrate that one cares about the job, it demonstrates that at some point you were coached to send thank you letters after an interview. It weeds out qualified candidates who didn’t receive that coaching due to culture, class, etc.

  • Gee, buddy. Do you really think “American Leftists won’t vote for a Black woman” is a “slight” disagreement? Anybody trying to sow division and discord is an op, whatever politics you profess to hold.

If you were a leftist, you might not be so blithe about substituting your insane guesses for my lived experience. You think you have a better understanding of my own politics than I do, while you’re telling me that I didn’t vote for Kamala because we are the same race. You’re goofy AF.

  • gestures at American history

I’m neither sure rhat I’m following you or that you understood the person above you, but American proclivities are well known. If we’re talking about “the left”, I’d be interested in any actual information about whether “the left” did vote for Harris or not, rather than Democrats assuming that anyone critical of them must not have voted.

You’re allowed to change your nickname. Many of us go our whole lives without putting our birth year in a screen name.

People born in 1988 is 37 now. Honestly, I don’t even question whether screenname88 is a Nazi. Anyone between ~25 and 60 with their birthday in a screen name is a weirdo too.

  • Does it weird anyone else out how “centrists” or “moderates” or whatever they want to call themselves need to bash leftists when nobody was even talking about leftists? It feels like an op.

Is this “person” I’m replying to living in the same universe as we are? If this feels like valid criticism to anyone, please go touch some grass and talk to your therapist about it.

  • If the shoe fits, wear it. It’s weird that you think my comment “focused” on white people, and also weird that you’re trying to blame all Americans when Republicans are 90% white and the only group that the majority of which ever voted for Republicans.

Republicans are a white problem. There is no other way to put it. Sorry I’m not sorry if you’re unused to being talked about collectively., but not doing so is burying the lede. Every time you said “people”, it would be more accurate if you said “white people”, but you don’t even understand why you don’t do that.
