Shame they never declared War on Disease.
It’s tough not to form a superiority complex these days when you hear of people who can’t compose emails by themselves.
Writing is so much easier when you skip over the bit where you do writing.
For anyone using macOS, Vorssaint is a lifesaver.
It has a number of “fixes” for macOS, including quit on close, clipboard access, per-app volume control, and many more.
I lived through the birth and widespread adoption of the Internet and it’s becoming increasingly likely I’ll live through its death, too. You don’t realise you were in the good old days until they’re over.

After I passed my test, my Mum told me word for word “It’s great once you’ve got your licence, you can slip back into your bad habits.”

There is that, but I’d also argue quite a lot of people would be against this proposal because they don’t want a drivers licence really; they just don’t live in a walkable area but want to get to work and be able to shop and the licence and owning a car is just a means to an end. If you’re a competent driver, having to retake the test would be a pain in the ass and your reward effectively is “You may continue to exist in society.”
Getting the letter that you’re due for a test would be more frustrating than a jury duty summons; jury duty pays.
The elderly resent the prospect of losing their licence for exactly that reason; it puts them at the mercy of family and expensive taxis to be able to feed themselves.
In a sane world, yes we’d all recognise driving can be dangerous and tests are sensible, but in that world you wouldn’t need a car to do basic shit either.
Smartphones are the most useful thing ever day-to-day… So I want to keep those, like keep all the text and call and email stuff, keep the games I guess, but somehow also go back to the days when the Internet was something to peruse for an hour or so a day on the computer.
There’s a lot of “Heal the political divide” being said to mean “meet them halfway” when what it should mean is the ignorant and prejudiced learn and the media machine dismantled, like how “Heal the healthcare class divide” means “Help poor people see doctors affordably”.

Shame I can’t boycott because this was a boring product update and I wasn’t gonna buy it anyway.

I may have bought in completely to Apple’s ecosystem…. But at this point it’s more because I hate every other tech giant slightly more.

Everyone has something to hide. That’s why I’m not posting my online banking password on Facebook or letting anyone install cameras in my toilet.

I found it to be a struggle to find a non-smart TV that was decent…

call them occasionally.
I’ll text. Take it or leave it.

… Well great, now I have to check whether my television has a goddamn microphone for some reason. I didn’t think to check because it’s a television.
Never connected it to the Wifi though.
I got rid of my home deep fryer for health reasons. It is dangerously easy, cheap, and quick to make quality fries…
The most conspiratorially minded are also the most likely to miss the obvious.
During COVID lockdowns, while I worked retail, a few customers didn’t want to use the QR codes to “check in” to the store because “tracking”, but then used digital contactless payment without a thought.
