It’s unlikely, but just to be on the safe side I would grab a different brand motherboard. Earlier this year there was a non-insignificant number of x3d chips failing with ASRock boards. If you stick with the ASRock make sure you update your bios

I have a Gamesir Tarantula Pro. It’s gimmick is that it has a physical switch that let’s it switch between an Xbox, PS4, or switch controller. Using it in Xbox mode worked out of the box for me on arch. I have no idea if it would be able to connect to a Wii U. And, as with the 8bitdo being suggested, it’s hall effect so it won’t develop stick drift

Everyone else has pretty good information. To answer the edit, the only Linux specific piece of hardware you’d want is an AMD gpu. To be clear, Nvidia isn’t bad and would work just fine if you want one, but it’s drivers can potentially be annoying to install and get running (I’ve heard it’s better nowadays, but I don’t have one so idk), whereas AMD drivers are part of the kernel (i.e. you don’t have to do anything, they’re just there, and will work)

I have the g6. The g5 seems to not be an OLED

I have a Samsung Odyssey 27in. It’s a little smaller than you want, but I believe(?) that they make a bigger one. I don’t have any other OLED to compare it to but I think it’s pretty good
