I’ve been using Paint Tool Sai 1.1.0 for as long as I’ve been drawing digitally and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It has a really good pen stabilizer feature, awesome blending modes (I luv u Lumi & Shade) and it just feels so…natural to draw with. Plus, it’s super lightweight. I still can’t believe it was made by just one guy!

I recently got over a cold and I had a headache so I was just doodling to try and take my mind off of it, then I had in my head this idea of something that was like halfway between a pegasus and a biblically accurate angel and just had to draw it because I really vibed with the idea! I finished the sketch, then I thought “hey, I saw lots of low poly art on Tumblr the other day, so why don’t I try it?” and that’s how it got here!

Currently the amount of tris is around 800 excluding the signature, I aim to keep it below 1000 and this is my first time making anything low poly, so bear with me! 😅 I had a lot of fun with the alpha textures. The legs look a little weird because I’ve yet to properly texture those

Contrast. As in, the balance of values in my drawings. My eyes seem to be simultaneously contrast-sensitive and quick to desensitize if I keep looking at the picture, so I end up in this weird state of feeling like a picture has either got too much contrast or too little…

It’s a way of getting easy engagement with minimal effort. There’s so many videos on YouTube lately where it becomes really obvious that they were sloppily made using AI. They’re all so… same-y, with the weirdly coloured text, grammatical errors and a looping AI generated video in the background.

As much as I tried to get into it, I couldn’t get myself into Game of Thrones.
