The bigger question we as a society need to be asking is why does anyone needs to sleep in the library in the first place?
The fascists won’t invite her to their birthdays anymore. It’s a real dilemma for Murkowski.
What’s wrong with facing a primary challenger? Every politician should have to truly face their base every election. It is the height of entitlement to view primary challenges as something worth bringing a civil suit over.
If Carville thinks the current crop of old guard democratic politicians are doing the right thing, what’s to fear from a primary?
There can be no “moving on” from this once Trump and Co. are out, and they will be out. There is always a tomorrow, in one form or another. Anyone who volunteers that we let bygones be bygones themselves need to be sidelined and quite possibly investigated alongside the criminal fascists.
We don’t have to worry about flat Earthers anymore, they all joined Q-Anon.
Any Christian now who remains silent in the face of their peers white nationalist hatred partakes in that hatred.
Paleo-conservative is the bullshit peddled by people like Pat Buchanan. They overlap with the “the South will rise again!” people. They are not big fans of Jews. But the larger point stands, all the taxonomy around conservatism is a way to distract from the fascism.
“Why are you wearing that stupid man conservative suit?”
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
It’s the shame every American will have to live with through history, myself included.
“The Warp is a strange and terrible place. You might as well throw a traveler into a sea of sharks and tell him to swim home as send him through the Warp unprotected. Better it is not to let common man travel through the stars. Better still, let him not know such a thing is feasible.”
Yes, as others have said, it’s Event Horizon
Pressure: pushing down on me, Pressing down on you, no man ask for, Under pressure that burns a building down, Splits a family in two, Puts people on streets
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
The destruction of property while sparing lives is a form on non-violent resistance.
Bang, zoom, straight to the moon.
I love that he has a bell to ring, presumably when he gives up on a movie so he can announce to the room when he’s going to get up and walk away from it. His girlfriend/wife already knows what’s going to happen. It’s been 10 years, and he still hasn’t picked up what she’s putting down when she asks if he wants to watch Netflix and chill.
I agree that it most likely is in the best interests for those in power to just drop the assassination story and pretend it never happened, but if it is the best choice it’s the best in a series of bad choices for the powerful. Underneath the immediate concern of one of the peonage getting up the courage to kill one of the Princes of the Universe is the general public response.
Every day the assassin stays free and in the news is a day everyone can see that the American public supports and condones the killing of people in C-suite (and likely beyond C-suite). That is one hell of a permission structure now in place. If the Powers That Be then pretend the killing didn’t even happen letting the assassin off the hook, that’s them giving carte blanche to copycats to do as they will, nobody is going to stop you. Nothing is true, everything is permitted.
I misspoke, unanimous consent isn’t required, but it makes the process much smoother, and is considered the “normal” means of ratifying committee assignments.
“We’re not raising the price on Switch 2, just the accessories.”
