In b4 Dems call this “bluff” run Obama, Obama wins and enacts fascism ‘popular reforms’ to the roaring applause of the brunch crowd.
News to me, good riddance. I wonder what finally killed it?
A part of Florida I know of is slapping together “luxury” apartments as fast as can be, but as far as I know none of the ones finished in the past ~decade are at full capacity because no one, not even the students they’re assumingly targeting, can afford the rents.
Did they stop drinking Caffeine Free primarily?
Idk, I look at US politics like kayfabe. When interest is waning (consent machine is failing, citizens are thinking organizing instead of voting, etc.) what better way to regain interest than by having the surprise comeback of a beloved character. Esp to sell the narrative that “that evil Trump has been defeated, all is right in the world and we can all breath a sigh of relief back at brunch”
My bet, they roll back Presidential term limits, Obama returns and vanquishes Trump, then Obama implements or reimplements many fascist programs with vaguely social dem-y sounding language to prepare for an ultimately futile war with China.
I’m assuming you have no religious trauma. I do, have read 100% of bible across 3 months when I discovered the problem of evil on my own (not hard, very basic contradiction) after a very well loved kid in my school (who I didn’t personally know) died tragically and painfully and my youth minister’s answers didn’t cut it. The only think of value I gained is knowing the church is full of shit and I could safely move on with my life ignoring all I’d ever been taught. If I want to learn of a culture, I’d rather read their literature than curated mythologies used to exalt patriarchies.
Can mixed ingredients become unmixed by mixing more?
My partner and I are far along that road, as well as the road to veganism. For us it was less a sudden departure, and more a slow journey into adventurous eating because we were bored with fast food and the food our families had always made. My advice is simply to remember that all tastes have to be acquired, and that takes time. Find people to go out together so you can try multiple things at once, esp people who already know what they like at a new place. Without one local Vietnamese place’s veggie bahn mi I’m not sure we’d’ve ever acquired the taste for tofu, but now I can enjoy almost any of it.
Some simple recipe starters to cheaply move away from the American diet at home when you’re looking for something simple: In a rice cooker, combine 3/4 cup dried green lentils and 1 cup brown rice, thoroughly washed, with 500ml of water with seasonings of your choice. Turn on rice cooker and enjoy in ~15 minutes. Also combines well with 1 can diced tomatoes and chilis (like rotel)
Heat 1 can of drained chickpeas on a plate covered with a cloth/paper towel to prevent popping for 5 minutes in a microwave, transfer into a pan with hot oil and cook over medium-high heat until at desired texture, being sure to season while in pan as desired. Place cooked chickpeas on tortillas with steamed corn, some salad greens (shout out to cheap coleslaw mix), chopped fruit, or anything else you can think of to give more texture and finish with any sort of sauce. Wrap and enjoy.
I mean, most Christians haven’t and they still exist. The only people I know who’ve read the whole thing are now 1) Not religious, or 2) Actively working in a church.
I thought it was a nice movie that showed the effect war has on civilians. Why’d you dislike it?
Fwiw, this is portrayed as at least somewhat bad.
This banger [a lyric music video] is absolutely relevant: https://youtu.be/FKypMwKDmi0
I mean, its always been “as far as possible and practical”
Before Biden, I saw it like a ratchet. The Rs moved us right, and the Ds kept us from moving left. Now their differences are even less clear.
And the amount of unpaid labor many women are typically expected to do at home, sick or not. My MIL had cancer, and her partner didn’t once clean their bathroom during her sickness. It took my partner noticing and doing it themself.
I heard this has more people at it than any of Trump’s rallys.
What is a fig but a miserable pile of dead wasps.
Freeze it, thaw it (under cool water in sink or in fridge, still in package), drain it, slice it, marinate it for a couple hours with literally whatever you like, pan fry till golden, and serve with veggies and a starch.
