  • I also recently got into Buddhism and I would say a good place to start is What The Buddha Taught by Walpola Rahula, once you’ve finished that you can check out The Noble Eightfold Path: Way to the End of Suffering by Bhikku Bodhi as well! Both of these books will give you a very good foundation.

    I would also advise against fixating on choosing a school or sect, it can lead to decision paralysis and you may just get fixated with a school that isn’t even practiced anywhere near you. Absolutely look into Sanghas near you and base your choices around that! I hope you enjoy your time with Buddhism!

    No way you’re unironically pulling out the identity politics when just about every single revolutionary party in the US’ history was led by minorities. We are the first to feel the brunt of capitalism and for that reason we are the ones to lead the charge against it while the privileged sit in their condos waiting for everything to blow over so they can say “Oh I actually supported civil rights this whole time :)”
