  • There are a strange amount of people who seem to hate the idea of asexuality and this unfortunately includes people from all swaths of life like the LGBTQ+ community. I’ve seen too many gay people say hurtful, and frankly hypocritical, things along the lines of asexuality not existing and being more akin to a disease. It seems that while more people have become aware and accepting of homosexuality, they still don’t understand asexuality and it scares them. Sad really. But luckily there are still lots of kind souls out there that will be accepting of anyone who’s accepting in return. Maybe they can show everyone else the way…

  • In my experience, most people have simply never thought about it before. If someone decides they want to open a bakery and they have never had a business before, they haven’t thought about everywhere their new logo will be used unless they get that expertise from someone. I’ve gotten pretty good at explaining these concepts to people and they typically respect my expertise and take my advice, but not everyone 😆

  • Even if you took that image and used it to create a black and white illustration, it would be way too busy. The logo on the left isn’t exactly amazing, but it’s decent and checks all the boxes for usability and readability. The one on the right is more like… an image made for an ad which you can’t put on a hat for example. The amount of times I’ve had to explain logo basics to a client who want to do something like the image on the right isn’t great, but they usually understand why these rules are in place after explaining and they generally respect my expertise. But not everyone…

  • I’ll be doing something similar to my yard this year. The house we bought was neglected for at least 4 years, maybe more. So there are loads of extremely tough weeds all over the yard. We will be placing down tarps to choke any plant life from the sun, then removing them after 5 weeks to start the germination process over on any additional dormant seeds, then back down to choke them again. Will repeat for 1 full season and then sow native prairie seeds to begin establishing. Not quite the same as heating the soil with the tarps, but similar effect for the weeds while keeping good soil biome in place.

It’s hard to tell from this photo but to me it just looks like your basil is flowering and a bunch of flower bits made a mess on the leaves. I usually try to pinch off the flowers as soon as I see them to keep the basil leaves going. I don’t see any holes in the leaves or yellow/brown spots so I don’t think it’s a pest. But again it’s hard to tell from this photo.

Edit: Just saw the tumbler photos and the first one makes it look more like a pest is present. But again, I don’t see any indication that they’re eating the leaves. Doesn’t hurt to try the dish soap spray in case it’s aphids.
