The thing is a lot of the ultra high-tech processes ASML uses rely on patents belonging to US actors such as universities. That’s the arm twist the US use to forbid them from selling to some countries. But if the Orange One insists on isolationism and full on trade war, that destroys a lot of incentives for ASML to honor the patents system.

This particular study’s interest is about what triggers it : “Our research enhances our understanding of when and why conservatives tend to spread more misinformation than liberals. We find that an ideological asymmetry emerges when politically polarized situations trigger conservatives’ desire for ingroup dominance. Acting on that salient desire, conservatives spread ingroup-skewed political misinformation, which is of uncertain accuracy, but not definitively false.
