Detroit has so much abandoned plots of land that have just been rotting for literally decades. Obviously something like this wouldn’t work in Manhattan or San Francisco, but cities like Detroit, Gary, Baltimore, and St. Louis where designed for populations 3-10x what is living there now. Better to turn abandoned city blocks into public gardens than continuing to let them rot.
