Sorry we didn’t get a check-in last week, I got covid :(

Anyway, let’s check in with each other. What’s good, what’s bad, what’s ugly?

Talk about bipolar or anything else - this is a free for all!

I agree therapy is great. I waited 6 weeks for my appointment just to have it canceled day-of and rescheduled another 6 weeks out.

I’m trying to talk with a therapist, but my healthcare system is…👎

Thats 3 months between appointments right now, assuming my next scheduled appointment isn’t also canceled.

That’s terrible! I hear stories like that often, where people try to get help and are met with great challenges and obstacles. All I can say is, keep trying. Good therapy is so worth it, but I will fully acknowledge it’s hard to find.

Based on what you wrote about parts in your original comment, I think you’d really like Internal Family Systems therapy. There is a great book on it called No Bad Parts by Dick Schwartz. I think you’d enjoy it.

Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll look into them :)

Some books I’ve read that helped me with my situations are: Emotional Neglect and the Adult in Therapy by Kathrin Stauffer I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

I’m Glad My Mom Died helped 2 of my clients come to terms with their own less-than-ideal mothers. It’s a great book. And I’ll have to check out the other one, thanks!
