I have been watching Spenser for hire and I was really enjoying the relationship between Spenser and Susan Silverman. It was mature and unique. It was also clear to me how seriously Spenser took the relationship and how he considered her a lifelong mate. Then all of sudden, SHES GONE. I was very disappointed. I found that they wrote her out because of struggling ratings and attempting to get new viewers. It only lasted one year after that I believe.

It made me wonder what other shows have successfully made major cast/character changes and had success? Cheers comes to mind for me (Woody…didnt care for Rebecca)
