With the holiday season in full swing - and the accompanying flood of heated family debates on doctrinal/historical matters - I’m looking for suggestions on sources.
I left the church several years ago after reading the CES letter, LFMW, and listening to hundreds of hours of MS. However, I’ve noticed that the go-to strategy for most TBMs is to discredit your sources (and by extension, your brain). They obviously do not consider any of my above-mentioned sources credible, so I’m wondering if any of you have had luck with others? (I’m currently reading No Man Knows My History, but I assume that one won’t hold water with most TBMs, either).
Has anyone had more success with Rough Stone Rolling? Should I stick to the gospel topics essays? Sometimes I feel like I need to go look at the original source documents under glass in order to convince them that I’m not a lazy learner and have done my research. But even then I wonder…
