The use of drones capable of deciding whether to kill humans is alarming critics.

Given they they literally can’t distinguish people wearing face coverings this would mean either indiscriminate killing in certain locations or a hard crackdown on covering faces or targeting people who do not expect this form of violence, i.e. those going about their normal daily lives in areas not previously targeted. All horrible.

Can it be any less accurate than the humans currently employed to kill indiscriminately?

Indiscriminate killing would be an improvement over the discriminate (read: racist) killing the US military does now. Hopefully these bots do some friendly fire lol

It would be an improvement but you can certainly count on an AI to reproduce the discrimination in the training data.

A pity really, i was kinda looking forward to unpaid foederati contingents establishing their own kingdoms in the US territory.

Would probably be an improvement, even an AI would probably have more of a moral compass than US military.

Those have a strong resemblance to those machines in Bioshock. Always hated those bastards. Were hard to hit but they were a blessing when you hacked them.
