    I met my first girlfriend that way, we’d go hunting for crabs in the wilderness by day and then sell our catch at the marketplace. It was hard being online at the same time but we made it work. We built fires and prayed in the evenings under the starry sky, and fell asleep in each others arms, until that fateful night when I came back from my fishing trip to find all her belongings in a single pile, surrounded by blood. I feared the worst, but kept hopeful and waited. My patience waning, I finally ventured out of the wilderness and towards the reset point, where I found her… outside of a cave garbed in dungeoneer equipment mumbling nonsensical words about grinding. :'-(

    I would make money in UO sometimes by logging into a female character and “bowing” in front of people to make it look like my character was performing oral sex. You could also spam “bow” while the other player spammed “salute” while standing behind the first player to look like doggy style sex.

    non-ethical monogamous situationship

    So … sexual slavery?

      It does say non-ethical instead of unethical, whatever that means.

      Also doesn’t clarify what part of the situationship is un/non-ethical, so maybe it’s just about undisclosed political campaign contributions or smth

        Non-ethical could mean without ethics not in violation of ethics?

        I guess that would mean the relationship has not or could not be defined by petty human rules of conduct. Like telling a supernova or a black hole to clean up it’s mess.

        Non-ethical is not “as opposed to unethical”, I’m sure. Rather, it’s a word play on enm, ethical non-monogamy.

        That’s how I read it, anyhow. I’m not the author.

      It’s a piss take of the ethical non-monogamy apps.

      But if we’re being a bit real - nonconsentual arranged marriages, 50 year age gaps, marriage for money, marriage for convenience etc etc would fit the bill

        “situationships” I think is the key operator. Where there’s probably a power dynamic, one person is being led on/getting played, and the other person is the player.

      It’s a great game for that as there’s a big focus on cosmetics and casual soliazing. I played it on release and I remember people hanging out at the beach area next to the main city.

    Jesus, I was literally just thinking about runescape and this comes up on my feed. I didn’t even say it out loud (I have grapheneos and hardened Linux machines anyways)
