Hundreds of Women File Rape Lawsuits Against City Jails

The suits filed as part of the state’s extension of the statute of limitations under the Adult Victims Act allege a culture of abuse and cover-up at the Department of Correction.

…at least 400 lawsuits against the city Department of Correction filed under New York State’s Adult Survivors Act, signed into law in May 2022. Similar to the Child Victims Act, the ASA gives alleged victims of sexual assault a window to seek monetary damages long after the statute of limitations for possible criminal charges expired.

Most people are people. Reasonably good but self-interested. But even a small percentage of bad people multiplied by humanity is a huge number, particularly when self-interest overlaps with evil.

( I like how snopes skirts the issue by pretending there can be consent when one of you is a prisoner of the other)
