You can post to a Lemmy community from Mastodon by tagging the community name. You can also follow Lemmy users in Mastodon. But since you can’t follow users in Lemmy and Mastodon doesn’t have communities you can follow, I’m not sure it works the other way around. You might be able to tag Mastodon users in Lemmy posts?

I guess what I need to do is look at the specifications for the activitypub protocol and then examine how each of these applications interact with that protocol, what data types, methods, or whatever are implemented by each. I’ll put that on my list for when/if my neurotransmitters start behaving again.
