An upcoming update for RimWorld changes its engine from Unity to the devs' in-house Waylith Engine, speeding the game up without breaking community mods.
IDK, I can’t imagine navigating Ideology without already being pretty familiar with the base game. Royalty might be okay in that it’s the most basic of the DLCs? But if you don’t already know about how to manage moods or set up a freezer, you’re going to have a really frustrating time with memes like raider (let alone tree connection or transhumanists).
The only “must have” one is ideology. But even then you don’t need it and could replace it with about 5 mods.
