He was clearly stating U.S. cities would have been threatened if a nuclear Iran hadn’t been stopped.

He clearly was not. But by all means, invite him to clarify. Stop speaking for him.

I’ve heard a lot of people saying that, but these people fail to realize that he said it in front of cameras. We have the quote, I’ve gone over it dozens of times and I can’t get any meaning out of it besides “Iran can blow up San Diego and Los Angeles and I wouldn’t care.”

I mean if you wanted to give a charitable interpretation it could be simply that there would be swift retribution and they would regret it. Like “oh I wish you would punch me” or something. So, yeah, let him clarify, but he simply won’t, because that’s not what he meant.

Honestly Trump has a lot in common with The Bible in that he and God both speak a bunch of fucking word salad gibberish and we’re all left alone to try to interpret WTF he just said because he refuses to clarify.

This loser thinks he bothered the Libz with that nonsense, so he doubled down to piss them off more. He’s too stupid to understand that it pissed off his own side, too.

He lost everybody but his own loyalists long ago, and now he’s on the edge with his own people. Every time he says something outrageous like that, it doesn’t make a difference with the Left, they’re long gone anyway, but it does make a difference with his own side, and they don’t like it.

I suspect he’s just itching to use nuclear weapons to be strong and stable and genius, being too stupid to understand why it’s is a bad idea.

The rest of his executive are also bloodthirsty fascists and probably don’t actually have a problem sacrificing some “libs” or “commies” or whatever for their greater good apocalypic religious ravings.

Didn’t even think it be nuclear weapons, but your not wrong he suggested and seriously wanted to use a nuke to stop a hurricane. You remember it the one defaced a weather projection map with a sharper when they refuse to draw it going the way he had said it will go. If he can’t stay in power I definitely see him using a nuke on his way out the door.

The first time had enough plausible deniability that he meant it in a “See what happens” type of way.

I still think that is the most reasonable interpretation of his statements but he’s intentionally playing into the media to keep the debate going. Letting people hear what they want to hear; Those that want to believe he meant the bad version (either because they like the message; or want to be mad about it) will hear that way. Those that want to believe he meant the innocent version will believe that.

It’s just very sick. What a disgusting terrorist.

Our government has been largely captured by people whose loyalty is to, in this order:

      1. Themselves
      2. Their party
      3. America (sometimes further down the list)

      That is the problem.

This is not a problem. The Senate is half of one branch of government, and it’s fine to give land limited say. It helps prevent us from turning the less populated states into dumping grounds.

Even if you disagree, there are much bigger issues. Gerrymandering and Citizens United both do infinitely more damage.

You’re going to have to prove that’s what would happen.

You’re also going to have to explain why that’s worse than underfunding and not meeting the everyday needs of actual people- the vast majority of whom do not live in rural America- to prevent rural America from “Becoming a dumping ground”.

(Also while you’re at it, show how republicans aren’t already turning rural America into literal dumping grounds with their regulatory rollbacks.)

Equal representation is a foundation of democracy.

The US doesn’t have that. And has never had it. If the foundation is shit, everything else is going to go to shit.

That includes citizens united and gerrymandering.

Which it needs to be said is a false dichotomy and all three things can be done simultaneously. It’s as lazy and fucking disingenuous as saying urban and suburban voters can’t vote responsibly for rural decisions but rural voters can vote responsibly for urban decisions.

Any argument you can make for rural voters receiving more voting power can be echoed right back at you and it’s all a load of bullshit.

So yeah. You’re absolutely going to have to defend the argument you fucking made when that argument is ultimately to disenfranchise 80% of American voters.

The Senate is pretty clearly spelled out in the Constitution. Citizens United is a pretty far fetched, liberal interpretation, and gerrymandering isn’t in the Constitution at all.

Eliminating the Senate is more difficult and not on my priority list, and you haven’t exactly convinced me to support that. It’s a great idea if your goal is to get nothing done.
