I don’t have the money nor the skill for a proper astrophotography set up. So I purchased a used S30 Pro at half price. This is a 70mim capture at 30 second subs, stacked using the Seestar app. The only post-processing I have done is ask Google Gemini to remove “half the stars” and I made the background a little darker. This was done with the standard tiny little tripod on a stool in bortle 5 skies. I am getting a tripod and a EQ mount soon too, but this was the 2nd ever attempt with the scope. It has a lot of potential!

That’s not post-processing. You’ve basically asked the AI to generate a new image with fewer stars. It doesn’t know how to edit images, it can only generate new ones that look kind of like the original.

Why remove half the stars? More stars more better I say.

Very jealous of the telescope though, and aside from the use of Gemini (why? Space is beautiful as it is I think), great image!

Awesome deal on that s30 pro, the end results it delivers are really good!

You should try editing your images in a more “manual” way to bring out all the details.

Use StarNet++ to remove all the stars, edit the galaxy on its own and then add the stars back in!
