The “technically-it’s colour” is very impressive! It makes you feel like you’re slowly losing your sight, due to how the background becomes darker and darker! But the the sunset comes and I’m like “WHAT, HOW CAN I SEE THE SUNSET?? I THOUGHT MY EYES WEREN’T WORKING???” Pretty amazing.

It’s poorly drawn, horribly coloured, terribly plotted and made by a human.

I love it and we all should love it.

I absolutely love btw that ai is causing this effect where people (not all but a significant amount I hope) crave the imperfection of human made art.

The rawness of expression that a machine just can’t find.

Perhaps the age of overproducing art is drawing to a close and we can get back to a more grungy approach to things.

(Not tooting my own horn here btw, I do mean all the amazing stuff here on funhole)

It reminds me a bit of how impressionism came about as a counter-reaction to the conventional art-style at the time, where realism was the focus. And how this coincide with the inventions of cameras. “Why paint realistic paintings when you can just point a camera at it?”

        And we need that.

Making anything, any sort of creative expression, has been turned into an exercise of reproducible perfection and success. The room for raw expression, unfiltered, uncultivated, was made almost shameful.

Even toddlers get their doodles apraised and evaluated in kindergarten and are directed to achieve a pre-set goal. Who cares about the individual expression and understanding of reality of a forming mind?

So we need that back. That sense of “I made this and it is good as it is because I did it”.

We deserve better. And this little comic is better.
