I used to work at a golf course and waking up hearing thunder most likely meant I had the day off. It was so relaxing to just fall back asleep to the sound of rain and thunder.

Now I work at a wireless internet company and the sound of thunder makes me anxious that one of our cell towers will get hit by lightning and I’ll have to go climb it.

    I miss liking storms…

I find the sound of rolling thunder extremely calming… as the sound of splashing rain. While i don’t care much for the sound of light and gentle rain

I mean, thunder is usually a harbinger of enforced cosy as long as I’m already home

I don’t get why it doesn’t have more fans tbf

Even putting the cozy implications to the side, seeing lightning in the corner of your eye is truly a sight that brightens up your day.

My dog hated thunder as a puppy. Now he equates it to cuddles in bed under the safety blanket.

I used to like thunder, too. But not the last few years. The PNW isn’t supposed to get thunderstorms, pretty much ever. But we get them now because of climate change, so now the sound of thunder means more rainforests burning down.

We had a series of huge thunderstorms on July 15th this year which was literally impossible before climate change. The fires still haven’t gone out and we’re up to like 3 million acres as of September 22nd.

Sorry for being a buzzkill. I hope there are people who are still able to enjoy storms.

I love listening to storms. Unfortunately, my beagle does not. I have to turn on fans and some kind of media to drown out the sound of storms so he doesn’t panic
