I mean read the rest too.

“If Ukraine continues to refuse to acknowledge the facts and publicly apologise, we will take further measures,” the South Korean president said on Friday, accusing Kyiv of making him out to be a “liar.”

South Korea seems more bothered by Ukraine not acknowledging there was an agreement to keep the deal secret and implicitly calling the South Korean president a liar.

Other articles are also saying South Korea is pissed off by how Bodanov seemed almost giddy about the possibility of a war in Korea.

their initial wish was to keep things in secret

I can’t imagine how this is confusing.

SK and UKR agreed to not share a secret.

      UKR shared the secret.

SK wants an apology because the secret is now public information.

It became public when UKR disclosed it.

It’s no longer an issue between the SK and UKR governments that can be swept under the rug. The SK press are reporting on the story so the SK government needs to resolve the issue publicly in order to appease the people who are upset about Korean POWs’ safety being endangered.

Real problems doesn’t work this way. Any secrets, even compromised, even Polichinelle ones(and NK POW “secret” is of this kind), could minimize the drama if continue to keep quiet even after someone says something.

Overall the story is very strange. I suspect foul play.

North Korea isn’t Beetlejuice, it’s not like there’s a magic number of times you can talk about this before North Korea learns about it.
