      I got one 30 years ago, $1400, my MIL uses it now and it works well

      a good long term investment

        It’s not the 1990s anymore, those machines go for three to five thousand dollars now.

          I do understand that. Taking into account inflation $1400 then had the same value as $3000 today

          I would like to add we were young and struggling, renting a dump and still doing Uni and paying off Uni too , this was a huge amount of money for us but I didn’t want to be buying a new machine every 5 years

        yeah that does exactly nothing about the fact I don’t have three thousand dollars to drop on a washing machine right now. jfc
