While scrolling I thought this was made in a drawing program or something before I saw the waves because of how smooth the color gradient is!

Yes and no, this is what’s called a ground swell. It is formed by winds very far away on the other side of the ocean. The distance it travels, plus the lack of swells coming in other directions and low wind when it gets to it’s destination essentially scrub it of any imperfections and causes it to become more uniform.
It’s the epitome of the search for the perfect wave.
No it looks like there’s offshore wind in this picture (wind going towards the ocean). You can tell from the shape of the waves and the spray where it’s breaking. Waves with offshore wind are the ones you want when surfing as the wind helps create the nice clean vertical face.
