Ukraine was absolutely correct to target Russian infrastrucutre. If this is remotely true, then this is the first time Russia has been figuratively brought to the table.
Guarantees from Putin and especially those backed by the Trump Syndicate are worth less than used toilet paper. But - let’s go ahead and be optimistic. This would be a de-escalation.
And if Russia breaks it - which they will - they understand that means Ukraine will resume attacking theirs. Russia’s air defense is a shambles and Ukraine’s offensive capabilities are increasing.

This “de-escalation” is only till the end of Russian so-called election. Same pattern as before with Moscow parade. If Putin is scared of attacks during some specific period of time - he is calling Trump. Trump is calling Zelensky and Russia get its period of relative calm during that critical time. Fun thing to do for Ukraine in my opinion is to mirror Putin`s tactic - do a provocation - blame Russia in a breaking the agreement and resume attacks exactly during that critical period - the thing that Putin wants to avoid.

Nobody sees Russia with clearer eyes than Ukraine, they’ll have plans to make it hurt when (not if) the treaty is broken.
Totally agree. And if this were all a strategy game and you were playing Ukraine’s role, the winning strategy for a lasting peace is to make russia bleed until they literally don’t have the capacity to launch another invasion. Ukraine is winning, bigly, even though the entire affair is horrible.
And it was inevitable. Russia was ALWAYS going to do this, and the state Ukraine finds itself in now is probably the best realistic scenario 4.5 years on. Trade small slices of land, keep the russian machine bleeding, increase your capabilities while theirs are degrading.

Nobody does. Especially the ukrainians. Everyone understands the warfare and subterfuge will continue in new, corrosive ways as long as their is a Russian Federation run by and for the security services like a mafia slave state.
I honestly don’t know what to cheer for, dude. The only way for a lasting peace is to bleed the current config of the Russian state til it collapses. But that might happen anyways in a post-Putin scenario. Stopping the killing today while retaining vigilance until that happens might be the best of not-very-good options you have to consider. Russia is a monster that isn’t going away easily. Post-Putin, many things may be possible. But the FSB and their predatory nature is going to outlive Pootz.
