Wow. Willing to commit to killing someone over swimming in a lake.
Fucking pathetic.
I don’t use the term ‘psycho’ lightly. But holy shit.
Pretty much summarises exactly where the US is at right now. Shit is crumbling, one pending felony at a time.
You could see the adrenaline wearing off and the immediate regret after the other people pulled him off the kid.
Man-moments all around
Hope he gets jail until he’s no longer a functional person.
sadly he already bailed out
He still has sentencing to receive, right?
He hasn’t even been arraigned yet.
Is this not him during arraignment?

Attempted murder is a jail sentence. It’s just how long it will be
Yeah that’s… that’s what my comment was about — how long it should be.
Honestly could’ve just slapped him and stopped there if he wanted to make a point with an injured wet noodle half his size. People need to learn restraint.
Non CBS link to deny them the clicks:
Everyone in this sucked, it’s just the degree to which they sucked.
While technically correct to some extend, “everyone sucks here” is not something I would say when 1 person is annoying and the other tries to murder them for it.
People are annoying because they can do it without any consequences. Jetskiers, bikers, people with BT speakers in public places… they all suck big time. Drawning them is going to far but I would 100% support public lashing.
Yeah THAT never gets misused against anyone.
The part about lashing was a joke, obviously.
The thing is you say that, and I believe you. However, other people like the angry asshole who tried to drown a guy also say that, but they aren’t joking.
When two strangers stand side by side saying the same thing, how do you know which is joking?
I was more looking at the spirit of what you were saying. Honestly because I have the same thoughts too, like “You wouldn’t be acting like this if you realized the thin veneer of social conduct protecting you from me”. I think that’s why I wanted to say something, there seems to be a degree of complexity needed for how we handle crybullies or normal ones in society
The spirit of what I was saying is more “antysocial behavior should be punished because otherwise assholes just keep assholing”. Sadly there’s just to many selfish idiots to effectively enforce social norms like that and over-criminalization leads to issues of its own. All we can do is hope enough people will get educated and respect others for this world not to turn into ever bigger shithole than it already is.
Right but how does one differentiate between effective punishment and just targeting inconvenient people for perceived annoyance? I agree with you, but there’s a very old trap in there too that I don’t think any institutions or educated individuals have done well in navigating.
