Do you not know that the gene pool was clearer back then? From Adam and Eve, there had to be incest. Later on, incest was acceptable. Now it’s not because it could cause deformed babies. That wasn’t the case back then.
Then why was it considered a sin for a daughter to get pregnant by her father?
God gave Moses more rules because the people weren’t happy with just the Ten Commandments. So, God gave Moses more to keep his people holy. And they were not holy. They kept failing and making poor choices. God had to tighten their morals. In the beginning there was a lot of room to make mistakes and it’s not like Adam, Eve or Noah had a guidebook like we do now. There was no moral compass. Also, if God commands something it is automatically good. That’s just how Christianity works. Idk what else to say.
It makes even more sense when you realize that Yahweh’s history of being a war god, under other gods until war (or actually lost wars) allowed his worshipers to claim the losses were because Yahweh wasn’t being recognized as the true god. Politics and religion.
