Capitalism is fundamentally incompatible with democracy. If money is power, and it is, it supersedes democratic institutions and are therefore a system of government, not some neutral model of resource distribution.
Its not a given that money will supersede democratic institutions. If the population can’t protect their institutions then the democracy has failed. Its a failure of civics more than a success of money.
