That was actually one of the few sci fi series I read when I was younger, but in retrospect the Endymion books gets a little sus with Aenea’s relationship with Raul and how he does some wibbly wobbly time skip to make their age difference less eyebrow raising. I learned in the last few years that Dan Simmons taught middle school and that set off some alarm bells. But I would probably still recommend them with that caveat, has a lot of cool concepts and I loved imagining the organic dyson sphere.
Author is definitely sus. He has this trope of older whore mongering man who never found love meeting an underage girl and then falling in love with her later. First two books also have this. He had a grooming fetish for sure.

Ah yeah it’s probably been 15~ years since I’ve read them so everything is pretty fuzzy but that sounds about right.
It does get a bit odd at the end. Although mommy deathbot lady can stamp on me if she likes…

I forgot about the Terminator that chases them and wasn’t thrilled with Aenea’s ending as space Jesus.
