    Discovery of the Higgs Bosen. People thought it would trigger the end of existence.

      I went down quite a rabbit hole after reading this comment (not about the end of existence, mostly about Peter Higgs and the Higgs Boson). Anyway, thanks for that. The dude was way smarter than me.
