Just finished ‘Cool Machine’ by Colson Whitehead. Third book in his Harlem trilogy.

Ray Carney’s dad was a stone cold criminal. When he died he left Ray a truck with $30,000.00 hidden in the spare tire. Ray decided to turn straight and brought a furniture store on 125 St.

Okay, so he occasionally fences a few stolen items. He’s a good father and husband who doesn’t cheat or drink.

Reading these books is like spending a long Sunday afternoon in an old man bar, listening to the OGs talk about legendary heists and hit men.
