It’s the main reason I haven’t tried it yet. As for distros, so far I’m most interested in Pop! OS, but given that it’s relatively young I worry about lack of documentation for certain issues I could encounter.
And is there a Linux alternative for Armoury Crate? G-Helper is only available on Windows.
I run bazzite on my rog flow z13 with an nvidia rtx 3050, so far the only issue i ran into was that i had to install an extra utility for manging gpu powerstates (that would be your armoury crate replacement), everything else went pretty smoothly. Don’t be afraid, you’re going to be fine.

Asusctl and rog control center, they can be installed via brew (cli or gui application) and just update alongside everything else via the update command
I’ve been using Linux (Mint) with Nvidia cards for over a decade, it’s fine. You typically have to go into some menu labeled “enable proprietary drivers” so it’ll download the actual Nvidia drivers (because FOSS nerds hate how Nvidia does it (and they’re right to)), and disable Windows Secure Boot in your BIOS, and then it just works.
Check for Linux drivers from nvidia and ROG. Most distros work well with most hardware. What issues do you think you’ll encounter. I used Pop for years with no major issues. Just switched to Nobara, also no issues.
Yes. Just pick a distribution that makes your life easier by managing the NVIDIA side for you - like Pop! OS which you already consider. They’re putting extra work to make sure it’s all compatible with your kernel and such.
I haven’t tried either Cachy, or Bazzite, so I won’t speak of them.
I have a ROG laptop with a Nvidia GPU and you can run the rog-linux kernel which has some kernel patches, and then asusctl and rog-control-center to get those things working.

I use CachyOS with an nvidia card just fine. Pop!OS I believe should also be fine.
Nvidia incompatibility is mostly overblown, especially on newer distros like Pop. You’ll be fine as long as you have you can find basic drivers.
As for Armory(fuck the british and their stupid u) Crate, it has a feature called Aura Sync so you should probably destroy your computer for being cringe.
While you are absolutely correct that NVIDIA compatibility issues are overblown, and it mostly works fine nowadays, laptop users need to be aware hybrid graphics can still suffer with hiccups, like applications using the wrong GPU, resume from sleep issues, battery usage issues.

I replaced Armo(u)ry Crate with G-Helper long ago and it has no “Aura Sync”
PopOS is in kind of a weird place. Their in-house desktop environment is still very new. I’ve been running their previous version that uses a tweaked Gnome on my laptop and tried out the new Cosmic a bit last winter when it launched but it wasn’t ready for daily use. I’m going to be switching my laptop over to Fedora Gnome like I use on my desktop when I get around to it.
I’m running cachyOS on a TUF laptop. Works great. Make sure to install g helper as an alternative to armoury.
I also had graphical glitches but that turned out being related to the AMD iGPU, had to add a debug mask flag to the bootloader and it got fixed
G Helper has no Linux version because it relies on Asus firmware that only exists for Windows. There is asusctl, but for any distros outside hardcore ones like Arch you need to compile it yourself, which seems doable if I know what libraries I need.
