Solving problems sure is fun. Only issue is if you have a bad day and the problem is an incredibly frustrating one, which can’t be solved at all or can’t be solved satisfactorily…
At this point in my life, I can’t imagine saying no to a back rub.
I concur. But I love a technical mystery too, either computer or otherwise. I just go in hoping it wasn’t caused by a WIndows update.
Do they love to solve problems or can’t they just say no to an open problem?
Could be the familiarity of the computer is more relaxing than the ambiguity of real life?
Also possible the nature of their bad day is feeling like their work is unvalued or pointless, and getting to do something concretely useful for someone you love is fulfilling by comparison.
