There is such a huge difference between a VFX artist using generative AI to create a background texture vs a whole scene yet it pretty much all of it gets lost in reporting. Any use of machine learning makes you irredeemable in the eyes of the internet warrior.
im an artist and i wouldn’t use gen ai to make a background texture. there’s tons of free textures, and if all else fails i can a) paint it myself or b) go take a photo

i work in tv animation mostly. i worked on scavengers reign, for example.
